WE'RE ENGAGED!!!!!

Well, it happened!!! Nathan proposed to me last night in the most romantic and private way I could have ever imagined! It was perfect. I posted a picture of the ring on the page, it is the white gold version. It needs to be sized so I will post real pictures of it after we have done that. We plan to mary in the Spring of 2009, maybe late May or early June. Don't worry all you lovely people back home, we will be getting married on the Island so rest assured...you will be invited! :) I will write more soon. Love you all!

Night out with the girls

Here are a few pictures from my night out with the girls last night. We went to Winnipeg yesterday to pick up the rest of mine and Nathan's furniture and we decided to shop for christmas presents and such as well. I found that fancy $3 hat and Megan and Zirka dressed me up in that shirt and we went out dancing. It was so much fun just to be with the girls and ignore everyone else.
We had a wicked night, however my legs are killing me today! 3 hours of dancing tends to do that to you. We barely left the dance floor :)
Nate Update: Nathan is coming home in 7 days!!! He will be home for our anniversary on the 29th! Not that he will be able to go out and do anything because he will be exhausted, but that's no matter. I am so excited for him to finally be home. Being with him will be anniversary gift enough for me!

Again :)

Oooh I decided that I was going to write again...this may even be a more than once every few months endeavour! :) Yay Brice is getting it! Anyway, my weekend was good. I unfortunately did not have my Nathan for the holidays, but I worked it out. I had a few of my military wife friends over for a Thanksgiving dinner as none of us have family out here and all of our men are away in Wainwright for training. It was so much fun. We all talked out our significant others, funny times, silly things and we found we have more in common than we knew! :) I made the turkey, stuffing, gravy and mashed potatoes, my friend Zirka brought the wine and buns, Megan brought veggies and some utensils for carving the turkey, Ryan brought homemade pumpkin pie and brought a friend Alex who was home alone with his 18 month-old son Dominique. The more the merrier!! I really did think about what I was thankful for this year. I am thankful for my family and friends and their love and support. I need it now more than ever and I truly appreciate it. Thank you all :)

FINALLY

I know I know! I suck at keeping this blog up-to-date and I apologize. I should probably post, even if I cannot add more pictures (which I know you have all been pestering me about). But Nathan brought the camera to the field and broke it! So I have resorted to taking crappy regular camera photos and getting them to put it on a cd...cheap actually :) So I will try to keep it more up to date.

Okay, update time! Nathan is currently in Wainwright Alberta :( for 2 months (he has been gone since September 7th and hopefully I only have less than a month until he is home). He is doing his last big excercise for his training to go to Afghanistan. He says he is missing me like crazy! Good! :p I miss him so much. It is so weird not having him home for this length of time.

As for me, I am keeping busy. Working my Mary Kay business....sooooo much fun! The ladies I have met in our group and from doing shows are absolutely amazing! I mean, how many friends will drive you to the airport (2 hours away) at 4am and how many friends will keep your little dog for a week when they already have 2 of their own? That's what I call real friends! Other than that, I have been making projects for myself. I am currently working on curtains (military housing doesn't come with anything on the windows at all). I also plan to move onto planting bulbs in my little garden this weekend and I am cooking a turkey dinner for 4 military wives whose men are away with Nathan and they do not have family here either.

My first Thanksgiving away from home should prove to be.....interesting. I have cooked a turkey before, but I have never not been at home for this holiday, so it will be a mixture of happiness and sadness. Sadness that I do not have my family around, but happiness because I can brighten 4 other women's lives by having this holiday at my house. I am looking forward to it.

Well there are furry children to feed and a whole house to clean, so I will bid you Adieu but I will leave you with some photos of the kids (Chancey: our 9 month-old papillon puppy, Monkey and Squishy: our 7 month-old kittens), our house and our brand new truck!!!! ENJOY

After popular demand

Okay okay, everyone wants to hear and see what is going on with us so after twisting my rather stubbourn arm for 6 months, here is our BLOG. I can't believe I became a blogger! So this is the page where I will let you know about all that is happening here with us in lovely Manitoba and I will try and update it with pictures as often as I can, but Nathan brought our camera to the field and now it does not work...so obviously we have to get a new camera.

So here we are so far...we are living in a 3 bedroom place on base FINALLY that is absolutely gorgeous (I will post pictures as soon as I can). Our two children are our two kittens, Monkey and Squishy and they are the biggest sucks that I could ask for! They will be a big help while Nathan is away. Speaking of Nathan, he is really liking his job, but not looking forward to going away to Wainright, Alberta for 2 months in the field for his training and being away from me. I am working at a pharmaceutical company out here during the day, but more importantly I became a Mary Kay consultant in the evenings and I am absolutely loving it!

So there you have it, update. I will now commence with the picture posting!
